About the Author

CSM Michael Berry (Ret.) is a U.S. Army Infantry veteran with over 30 years of service in some of the Army's most elite units. A master of the Ranger Tab, Jumpmaster, and Drill Sergeant disciplines, he served with the 82nd Airborne, Long Range Surveillance, and ultimately became the 28th Enlisted Commandant of the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Academy — setting the standard for the force.

Beyond his military career, Michael's story is one of leadership, resilience, and faith. Having served alongside his wife, SGM (Ret.) Kenya L. Berry, and having endured the profound loss of his son, Mylon, he now channels the lessons of service and sacrifice into mentoring and strategic leadership — helping shape the next generation.

His memoir, Boots, Blood & Brotherhood, is a raw and honest account of a Command Sergeant Major's fight for respect, purpose, and brotherhood.
